New custom home exterior with metal roof built by Lone Star Patriot Construction in Texas

Additions & Outdoor Living

More Room, Without Moving

An addition costs less than a move and keeps the location you already love. We handle the structural work — foundation tie-ins, framing, rooflines that match, and the finishes that make the new space look original rather than added on.

What we build

  • Room additions — bedrooms, primary suites, bathrooms, offices, playrooms and mud rooms
  • Garage conversions & extensions — living space, workshops, storage and guest suites
  • Covered patios & porch covers — framed or attached, insulated or open, with proper drainage
  • Pergolas & shade structures — wood and metal designs sized to the space
  • Outdoor kitchens — counters, grills, sinks and shelters built for Texas summers
  • Decks, porches & steps — including accessibility ramps and handrails
  • Exterior upgrades — siding, doors, windows, soffit, fascia and trim

Structural work is not a place to guess

Additions change load paths. We check foundation conditions, tie new framing into existing structure correctly, and match roof pitch and overhang so the finished house reads as one building. Where engineering or stamped plans are required, we coordinate that as part of the project rather than leaving it to you.

A covered patio is the cheapest square footage you will ever add. If your budget cannot stretch to an addition yet, start outside — we can build the foundation and framing for a future room later.

Permits and inspections

Additions and covered structures almost always require permits. We prepare and submit the paperwork, meet the inspector on site and keep the paperwork organized so nothing stalls your project or complicates a future sale.

Common questions

Additions & Outdoor Living, answered

In most Texas jurisdictions, yes — additions and covered structures require permits. We handle the application and inspections as part of the job.

That is the goal on every addition: matched roof pitch, siding, trim and finish so the new space reads as original rather than added on.

Small additions typically run two to four months including permits; larger projects take longer. We give you a written schedule at the start.
